ALL ABOUT WPAA

Warwick Pole and Aerial Arts is a society for students and staff of Warwick University that offers a variety of lessons, both student run and professionally taught.

We teach pole dance, aerial silks and aerial hoop on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays - have a look at our general timetable on our Classes page and keep an eye on our social media for any week-to-week changes! You can come to our lessons from absolutely any background, whether you've been doing gymnastics for years or you've never touched anything remotely related to exercise. We all start somewhere and our lessons are built to support you from the ground up! All you need is the desire to try out a new skill!

WPAA is more than just classes, we are also incredibly active socially! We hold themed circles in the Terrace Bar and create Pole Families to help you all settle in and get to know each other. We regularly organise one-off socials such as club nights, meals, picnics, ice-skating, days out and more. There is also never any pressure to drink at any of our socials, and there will often be a sober exec member at any drinking social to be able to help out!

WPAA also regularly perform, whether that is our Christmas Showcase or for SU events. You can check out our YouTube channel for videos of some of our performances! We also compete as a university and individuals in local, national and international competitions! In 2019 we even hosted IUPDC (Inter-University Pole Dance Competition) at Warwick ourselves and won!

Of course, you don't have to perform as part of our society but if it's somthing that interests you, then there are plenty of opportunities for performing and competing for all levels!

Any questions? Head over to our Getting Involved page for a step-by-step on how to join, start coming to lessons, etc, and if that doesn't answer your question, head over to our Contact page to give us a shout!

TESTIMONIALS

IMG_0516.JPG

I joined WPAA in my second year and regret not joining sooner. I have had multiple opportunities to perform pole and silks and also competed in the group category for IUPDC in 2019. WPAA has improved my strength and body confidence, whilst being a place where I have made some friends for life!
